Govt can abolish dividend distribution tax for cos, but tax the recipient: R Shankar Raman, L&T

Razorpay raises $20 million from Tiger Global, others


NEW DELHI: Payments solutions firm Razorpay on Monday said it has raised $20 million in funding led by Tiger Global and Y Combinator. The series B round also saw participation from Matrix Partners. The company has raised $31.5 million till date, including from the present round.

SME lender Capital First announces merger with IDFC Bank


IDFC Bank and Capital First today announced merger between the two to form a combined entity with assets under management of Rs 88,000 crore, branch network of 194 and customer base of over 5 million. As per the agreement, IDFC Bank will issue 139 shares for every 10 shares of Capital First.

MUDRA loans disbursed to over 50 lakh persons in 2 yrs in Maharashtra


Over 50 lakh persons have received loans under the MUDRA scheme in the last two years, Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said. He informed that in 2016- 17, Rs 16.9 thousand crore worth of loans were distributed and in 2017-18 so far, this figure stood at Rs 8.8 thousand crore.
